In Kristin Damrow’s Contemporary Workshop, beginning and intermediate dancers will have the opportunity to step deep inside the mind of a choreographer. Over the course of this ten-week workshop, dancers will work as a cohesive group and learn the creative process of building narrative through movement. They will learn choreography, dissect and rearrange phrase work, and refine partner work by sharing weight and developing trust with each another. This unique opportunity is specially designed for students who are curious to learn more about contemporary dance though the process of choreography and performance.

Kristin Damrow grew up on a rural farm in Wisconsin then lived in Chicago while earning her B.A. in Dance from Columbia College. Eager to continue her professional career, she moved to the Bay Area in 2010 and founded Kristin Damrow & Company. Her choreography has been seen at many residencies and festivals, including the Summer Performance Festival at ODC Theater and Dance Mission Theater's D.I.R.T Festival. She has been commissioned for Carlmont High School's Annual Gala and the Stern Grove Festival. Kristin is the artistic director of KDC and its annual home seasons. Their next work, EAMES, will premiere at ODC Theater in January 2018. Kristin also serves on the faculty at ODC Dance Commons, Dance Mission Theater, and City Dance. She is the director of Body Language, RoCo Dance's pre-professional teen company. She guest teaches at the University of San Francisco, Sonoma State University, City College, Shawl Anderson Dance Center and LINES Ballet.
